Mindwaves Counselling
and Hypnotherapy
A gentle space to rediscover your strength, self‑belief and inner steadiness.
Confidence isn’t about becoming someone different — it’s about reconnecting with the parts of you that already exist but may have been overshadowed by doubt, past experiences or the pressure to be everything for everyone. This page explores the real, human moments where confidence wavers, and offers a supportive, grounded space to rebuild it in a way that feels authentic, sustainable and truly yours
Understanding self doubt
Self‑doubt often develops quietly over time. It can come from past experiences where you learned to be cautious, to minimise yourself, or to stay small to avoid criticism or conflict. You might notice it in the way you second‑guess decisions, apologise for things that aren’t yours to carry, or hold back from opportunities because a part of you whispers that you’re not ready, not capable, or not enough. Sometimes this inner voice feels so familiar that it’s hard to imagine life without it — almost like an internal narrator that’s always scanning for mistakes or reasons to be unsure.
In therapy, we explore this with gentleness and curiosity. We look at how these patterns formed, what they’ve been protecting you from, and how they show up in your everyday life — in relationships, work, boundaries, or your sense of self. As you begin to understand the roots of your self‑doubt, you can start to soften its grip, build self‑trust, and create a more compassionate inner dialogue.
This isn’t about silencing your doubts completely; it’s about transforming the relationship you have with yourself so confidence feels more natural, grounded and sustainable

Confidence
True confidence isn't about standing on a stage or pretending to have everything figured out. It’s about feeling grounded in who you are, trusting your own decisions, and knowing you belong in the room—just as you are.
When self-doubt takes over, it often feels like an internal critic constantly evaluating your every move. You might find yourself:
-
Carrying old patterns and expectations that no longer fit the person you are becoming.
-
Struggling with imposter syndrome, feeling like a fraud despite your skills or achievements.
-
Over-thinking conversations and decisions, second-guessing your intuition or boundaries.
-
People-pleasing or staying small to avoid conflict, criticism, or judgment.
-
Feeling disconnected from your own voice, needs, and inner wisdom.
A Gentle Reminder: You are not broken, and you do not need to be "fixed". Self-doubt is often simply an old protective pattern that once served a purpose but is now ready to shift
My Approach: How We Work Together
Confidence Built from the Inside Out
Rather than giving you generic advice or superficial quick fixes, my approach is pluralistic, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your autonomy. We explore what is happening beneath the surface at your own pace—honouring your story and the natural wisdom you already carry.
Because everyone experiences self-doubt differently, we don't fit you into a rigid, one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we draw from a blend of therapies depending on what you need in the moment:
-
🌿 Counselling for Self-Understanding: A safe space to slow down, unravel where these self-critical voices began, and feel heard without judgment.
-
🍃 Hypnotherapy for Subconscious Shift: Gentle subconscious work to soften emotional loops, release deeply rooted beliefs, and anchor feelings of quiet self-assurance.
-
🧭 IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy): A structured, calm process that helps process emotional triggers and identity imprints connected to self-doubt—without needing to retell painful stories
What Real Confidence Looks Like
