How IEMT Works
IEMT works by helping the brain update emotional responses that have become stuck, outdated, or disproportionate. These emotional “imprints” often sit beneath conscious awareness — shaping how you react, how you feel, and even how you see yourself.
Instead of analysing the story or talking it through repeatedly, IEMT works directly with the felt experience. You do not need to tell me any details. It’s gentle, focused, and surprisingly efficient.
At its heart, IEMT helps the brain do something it naturally wants to do: process emotional experiences so they no longer overwhelm you.
Why Emotional Imprints Get Stuck
Sometimes the brain holds onto an emotional response long after the situation has passed.

What Actually Happens in a Session
1. We begin with grounding and clarity
We talk about what’s been happening for you — not to analyse it, but to understand the emotional landscape we’re working with.
2. You focus on a specific feeling or pattern
This might be:
• a trigger
• a recurring emotional response
• a belief about yourself
• a moment that still feels “alive” in the body
You don’t need to go into detail or retell the whole story.
3. I guide your eye movements
You follow my hand or a visual point while holding the feeling in mind.
This helps the brain process the emotional imprint in a new way — gently, safely, and without overwhelm.
4. We check in and repeat as needed
We work in short, focused cycles.
You’ll often notice the emotional intensity shifting — softening, loosening, or becoming more distant.
5. We integrate the change
We finish with grounding, reflection, and space to notice what feels different
